Tapash is the son of Pandit Kalipada Das. Pandit Kalipada Das was a professor of Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata, a worthy disciple of Pandit T. L. Rana & Pakhawaj Maestro Pandit Rajiv Lochon Dey.
